4 Background We have done this particular session twice with great results Our original format was using the Leads as a panel of experts who debated for the audience As the format for Educause Connect is different, we’ve “flipped” the session and now all of YOU are the panelists

Each Lead will introduce their respective product In turn, each of the Leads will gather features/uses from their panelists (that’s you!) that they feel set their product apart from the competitors (participants earn beads!) Panelists from the competing devices will have time to respond and refute We will go in the following order: Microsoft Surface Android Apple iOS

8 Microsoft Surface Microsoft Surface panelists have three minutes to talk about features and uses that they feel set their device apart from the competitors Android panelists have two minutes to respond/refute Apple iOS panelists have two minutes to respond/refute 3 minutes 2 minutes These timers appear initially as a cream, coloured circle. The timer is initiated by clicking on, at which point the circle will fill up in a clockwise direction with the colour you see above. At the end of the time, a bell will sound. It is possible to change the timings of the timers by entering the animation settings and changing the timings of the relevant ‘Oval’. Note the timings have to be entered in seconds. It is possible to have multiple timers on the same slide as these work independently of each other. 2 minutes

Each Lead will distribute devices to each group of panelists The Leads will also facilitate ensuring the devices get rotated amongst the panelists We only have two of each device so please be good sharers! The goal of this exercise is twofold: Break everyone out of their comfort zone with their own device Give everyone the background they need to respond to the next poll

Do the following tasks on each device Identify how to connect to the Wi-Fi network Identify how to take a picture using the camera If you have difficulty, grab your Lead! We have 10 minutes for this exercise 10 minutes
