Curriculum We have a topic each term.
This term the topic is ‘Dinosaurs’ We have a cross curricular approach – make links where possible We also have Areas of Provision Having these makes it fun, interesting and gives the children independence. Questions are used to challenge the children in the working areas. Termly newsletters will be sent home to inform you about the content of topics and any special days / events

Items Needed PE kit – kept in school and taken home at the end of a half term to be washed (indoor – Mon, outdoor Wed) Water bottle – provided by school in September. All uniform, coats, hats etc to be labelled please. Milk money – can pay at the school office or give to staff in an envelope.

Book Bags Book bags will contain 2 levelled books, a reading record, spelling book and Maths activity book. Children need to bring their book bags in every day An adult in the classroom will read with each child at least once a week and check if their books need changing Please check your child’s bag each day for letters, party invites etc If there is something we need to see e.g. a letter / money, please ask your child to take it out of their bag as we won’t be able to look in each child’s bag each day.

Homework Regular reading at home to reinforce skills and build on fluency & pace, and adding a comment in the reading record book is a great home/school learning link and really helps your child’s progress. (3 step program – will discuss at English workshop) Words to spell are stapled to the front of spelling books. Spelling quiz will be on a Thursday and the new spelling list will be given out after the quiz Mathematics activity book contains activities to do with your children whenever you have time (will discuss at Maths workshop)
