It was not until after Dickinson’s death, when Emily’s younger sister discovered many of her poems.
Lavinia(Emily’s Younger sister) got them published, Emily Dickinson reputation grew after her death.

4. Emily Dickinson’s poems…
Was mostly about dealing with themes of death and immortality.
She was troubled from a young age by the “deepening menace” of deaths, especially the deaths of those who were close to her.

The type of meter in this poem is  form of an iambic trimeter.
The poem is basically based on metaphors.
The theme is about Hope is always there, to warm and comfort in the best and worst of times. In life bad situations are no rarity, but hope is there to defeat them.
