Each line is labeled with a number on each end. You can find these on the map by looking for the small colored circles with numbers in them. The color of the circle is the same as the color of the line.

4 Which direction? The final station of each line also serves as the direction name. If you are traveling on the yellow line (line 1), you can travel toward La Défense or Château de Vincennes.

To ride the Metro, you need to know your beginning and ending station. If your starting point and ending point are on the same line, you only need to take one train. If they are on different lines, you will need to transfer.
