2. Biography Nigel Barker was born on April 27, 1972 in London, Enlgand.
He grew up in a family with five siblings and attended Bryanston School.
He planned on pursuing a career in medicine, however his mother (a former Miss Sri Lanka), entered him into a televised model show called ‘The Clothes Show’ that started his modeling career.
He modeled for 10 years before he decided to become a fashion photographer in 1996.

3. Media
Nigel is currently a photographer and judge on the show, America’s Next Top Model and has been since cycle 2.
He was also an official judge for the Miss America Pageant 2007.
He made his directorial debut with the documentaries ‘A Sealed Fate?’, ‘Generation Free’ and ‘Haiti: Hunger and Hope’.
In September 2010, Nigel released a book on beauty called, ‘Nigel Barker's Beauty Equation: Revealing a Better and More Beautiful You’.

4. Personal Life He married Cristen Chin, a fellow former model, in 1999.
He currently resides in New York City with his two children, Jack and Jasmine.

5. A Sealed Fate?
A Sealed Fate? is a 45 minute documentary made by Nigel Barker about Canada’s annual harp seal hunts.
Nigel traveled 30 miles off the coast of Prince Edward Island with the Humane Society of the U.S. to witness the birth of the harp seals.

6. Interesting Facts
Nigel opened his own photo studio in New York City called StudioNB.
He has photographed for various magazines including Seventeen, GQ, Town & Country and Cover.
Some of Nigel’s role models include Andy Warhol and David LaChapelle.
Nigel took fashion classes all throughout high school and was the first boy to be awarded the designer’s cup.
