1. Smoking Quitters 2013/14

2. The following series of slides outlines smoking quitter data for service users across Nottinghamshire either through one of the specialist services (New Leaf or Bassetlaw Stop Smoking Service), GPs or Pharmacies.
This data is broken down by district/CCG area, age and sex.
Numbers setting a quit date = the number of people accessing a service and committing to a date to stop smoking completely
Numbers quitting = Number of people remaining quit 4-weeks post quit date (this is a proxy measure)
Quit rate = Number of people who quit/number who set a quit date

3. Quit data for England 2013/14
The number of people setting a quit date in 2013/14 was 1,343 per 100,000 population
The proportion of successful quitters was 51%
The success rate of giving up smoking generally increased with age, from 39% for those aged under 18, to 58% of those aged 60 and over.
50% of women and 52% of men successfully quit smoking
