1) All Trauma patients who fulfill the following criteria:-

Admission to an intensive care area or
Transferred out for continuing care or
Transferred in for continuing care or
Died
3) And whose injuries are TARN eligible

6. Validating the HIPE denominator
Use TARN SQL script to identify list of potential TARN cases
Coordinators to note any ineligible cases & reason.
Feedback to NOCA, using spreadsheet ed by them September 17.
Spreadsheet contains dropdown list of ineligible reasons & ‘other’ option, similar to example below.
List of ineligible reasons based on validation exercises completed by English Trusts & TARN.
NOCA to send spreadsheet to HPO to adjust expected no. of cases denominator.
Adjusted denominator passed onto TARN.
