10 (n., sé-ne-or-i-tis; from the Latin meaning “time to party”)
Senioritis (n., sé-ne-or-i-tis; from the Latin meaning “time to party”) A condition that affects 12th graders who believe they can coast through the last year of high school. Symptoms include falling GPAs, lower class rank, missed opportunities to lessen freshman college load. Rare cases have resulted in grades so low, accepting colleges have reversed their decision. It is true that some students have had their admission decision of acceptance to a particular college or university rescinded due to a lack of academic progress or a poor discipline record during their senior year. Other students will start their college careers on academic or behavioral probation due to a case of senioritis.
