2 Focused Outreach Effort
Emergency Preparedness-focus on outreach efforts to prevent spills, incidents, non-reporting. Big push for outreach in Region 8. We hope to capitalize and grown relationships with our state and industry partners.

What do we talk about?: Areas of focus: Chemical Emergency Preparedness and Prevention (FKA EO 13650) EPCRA RMP Limited basic Oil discussions State/local/tribal collaboration Federal partners also included

4 Provide assistance to R8 states and partners.
Our goals: Concerted effort for someone from the unit to attend SERC meetings in R8. As time and budget allow, we hope to expand attendance at LEPC meetings. Currently we attend as many local LEPCs as possible but hope to expand that into other regional states. Provide assistance to R8 states and partners.

5 What have we been up to? Numerous workshops and/or outreach given through-out the region: Late Oct- ND Haz Chem conference Mid-Nov-TERC 101 workshop Lower Brule, SD Dec/Jan- assist Arista-Tek with Tier II Submit (Provided general Tier II Submit training as WY has new reporting mechanism).

6 And up to… Jan- MT EPCRA webinar (training new state people) Jan/Feb-Western States SERC meeting (R8, 9,10-discuss regional issues) Feb-CO Emergency Management Conference (Danny and Tina) Feb- SW Rural Utah Preparedness Summit Feb-AZ Emergency Planning/Exercises (Rebecca assisted R9)

7 And up to… March- WY-Respond WY (4 hour workshop on LEPC 101) March- SD-LEPC Workshops (Four LEPC-focused workshops given over a week throughout the state) April-MT Inter-tribal Working Group Meeting April- ND-Chemical Safety for Industries Workshops (Six Chemical Safety for Industries workshops given over a week throughout the state)

8 What’s on the immediate horizon:
Hope to develop LEPC tool kit for the region. CEPC sponsored LEPC conference UT LEPC conference More involvement with tribes National Preparedness Month (Sept) activities
