6. Intranet services Some examples of previous experience and projects:
Merged a suite of organisational intranet communities and sites into one unified portal for the late-stage development and platforms matrix organisation (~3000 international users). Managed and developed the resulting SharePoint Community intranet site strategy, architecture and governance, including the hosting, training and technical support of divisional sub-sites. Built, managed and developed a unified online news service.
Collaborated to determine a strategic strategy, and designed and executed a plan to create a pioneering SharePoint community for the role- based activities in clinical development, serving as a structured site hosting platform as well as a Wiki-like information resource, independent of organisational lines and changes.
Designed an interactive Budget Challenge Web site, which engaged the organisation in meeting the R&D budget reduction target (met with 5% to spare) and enabled submission of cost-saving ideas to management.
Designed, implemented and managed for R&D and Human Resources a staff redeployment support site which served as the primary resource for these ~175 staff, providing training & support services and metrics.
Managed a matrix of content owners, stakeholders and site maintainers. Trained and mentored a colleague and a Web site maintainer to self-sufficiency. Managed the transition and supported the content owners of a suite of Web sites to SharePoint.
Created, developed, and maintained the Web site and a news service for the European Clinical Research Organisation, and developed and oversaw the Web Space as a key communication tool to reach and involve staff across Europe. Created and managed a suite of worldwide clinical/medical organization Web sites (30+ in Europe alone) through a network of local content owners and maintainers.
Devised and designed a Web content management system (“The Web Site Template”) in partnership with a programmer, which was extensively used across late stage development in GSK R&D. Migrated sites and supported content/sub-site owners in the transition to the corporate content management system (Plumtree).
Drove the uptake, development and expansion of the intranet within the Medical organisation of GW. Established a network of content providers and maintainers and implemented governance principles and established best practices.

Internal communications services: Some examples of previous experience and projects:
Produced a popular and valued (as per user surveys/metrics) long-running biweekly newsletter, combining community hosted news and blogs with an editorial selection of relevant news from the wider organisation.
Business lead and advocate for Yammer social collaboration tool rollout.
Created and organised, with senior leader input, a series of novel virtual meetings using LiveMeeting, giving an organisational update to support business change strategy, delivered by volunteer leaders from across the organisation.
Managed the European Clinical Operations Award scheme, refining the nomination process, promoting the scheme across the European operating companies and publicising winners.
Supported International meetings with photography, pre and post meeting Web sites, presentations and graphics. Created a novel illustrated brochure of the entire European clinical research organisation as a meeting networking aid and reference.
