2. R.I.S.E.ing to New Heights
Summer R.I.S.E. (Real Interesting Summer Employment) is a locally funded initiative led by WorkSource Montgomery, in collaboration with Montgomery County Public Schools and other partners, that will provide rising MCPS juniors and seniors with enriching summer work/learn experiences.
Participating students will earn money, gain exposure to exciting careers and industries all while interacting with working professionals and developing the skills and commitments necessary to success in today’s ever changing economy.

3. Benefits For RISERS
Exposure to exciting careers interacting with working professionals
Earn MCPS work/learn recognition
$100 weekly stipend for students
Open to all MCPS rising juniors and seniors

4. Program Requirements Three Week Program July 10th – July 28th
20-25 hour work week
Online registration for students and employers
Students must complete an online course, two in-person trainings, and an orientation

5. Program Timeline Mid February: Program Launch
Mid March: Student Registration Opens
Early June: Student Registration Closes
Early July: Student Orientation
July 10th: Placements Begin
July 28th: Placements End
Late July: Closing Celebration

6. We Need YOU! Overall MCPS goal of 4,000 students
160 students per high school
80 rising juniors
80 rising seniors
Identify school coordinator for Summer R.I.S.E.
Develop a strategy to spread the word in your school community
Serve on the advisory committee for the program
