Recognizing the vital role of the supply chain to Canada's economy, the Council is committed to enhancing the sector's ability to attract and retain workers at all levels and across the full range of functions, and to advancing the skills of those workers." Current Issues CSCSC AGM and Directors Meeting – Preparations are underway for the 2009/2010 Annual General Meeting and Directors Meeting. Our AGM will be held on June 10th, in Halifax, N.S. Members will have the opportunity to participate either in person or by telepresence. If you are interested in attending, please contact the office for further details and to confirm your participation. Full members are accorded voting privileges; associate members and guests may attend, but will not be afforded any voting powers. Items for discussion include: Approval of financial statements, appointment of auditors Election of Board of Directors Activity reports: projects including National Accreditation Program, Occupational Standards and Recruitment & Retention A focus on the Port of Halifax National Accreditation Program – Accreditation of offerings from learning-system providers continues. The latest intake, which began this month, will include our largest number of submissions. If your members are seeking access to education and training programs, we urge you to encourage a first look at those programs that have been accredited. If you are hiring or promoting individuals, give consideration to those individuals that are graduates of accredited programs or courses. The AGM will be held in Halifax, N.S., on June 10, Full members are encouraged to participate in the AGM, and in the election of directors for the Council. Associate members, and members of associations that are part of the sector, are welcomed to attend as guests (however, those guests will be ineligble to vote). For those of you in Atlantic Canada that wish to attend at your own cost, please let us know. If you want to attend virtually, the meeting will be held with a teleconference and web presence, so you can participate from anywhere in Canada. The National Accreditation Program (NAP) was established to recognize supply chain-related educational offerings that meet the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council's national standard. The standards used in our accreditation were developed by our sector for our sector, and can be found at Both individual courses and full programs can be submitted to the Council's Accreditation Review Panel for NAP review. The Panel meets four times a year to consider submissions received by the Council during the preceding three months. Remaining deadlines for submission in 2010 are August 1st and November 1st. What We Need From You The Council continually looks for examples of best practices that demonstrate the impact of our work in HR.
