1. Creating a wiki phage for your lab notebook
Navigate to
Log in using button in upper right of window.
Click “Create” to make your own page.
Enter your full name for the “Page title” and click save. Your name should show up in the left menu, under Spring 2017 Phage Lab.

2. Navigate to your own wiki page, which will have your name in the address below(
Click “Edit” to go into editing mode.
Start your first post! Each time you work, you need to document what you do. You will use this page for your notebook and add on to it each class.
-date, topic/title – choose a header formatting so you can clearly differentiate the beginning of each post
-the details – choose a “body” formatting that is different from header
You can use this space to document your annotation and any unusual observations you have along the way. This semester, those observations are generally screen shots of bioinformatics data, with some text to describe the image.

3. Use the “+” drop down menu to choose “Files and images” and insert a screen shot into your post.
Use the “Link” option to insert a hyperlink to another website into your post.
Use the “Link” option to insert a hyperlink to a file into your post.
Click save, to save your first post.
