Welcome to Kindergarten!
Ms. Curley and Mrs. Barnes 1
2
What is PBL? PBL (Project Based Learning) is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge of the grade-level content by working and collaborating with others to investigate and respond to a given problem.

Is an authentic experience
PBL... Is an authentic experience Allows students to practice and implement important 21st century skills Prepares students for future experiences Helps them learn content beyond the textbook PBL is an authentic experience for students in that it shows them how the skills and standards they’re learning apply to everyday life. Job interviewers today are not looking for employees who can reiterate facts and work quietly in their seats. They are looking for people who can collaborate, problem solve, be creative, and communicate effectively. PBL allows students to begin practicing and refining these skills at a young age. Some components of PBL projects include: collaborating with others, using technology to support their learning, creating products that show their learning, and reflecting on their work in order to continue their learning. The purpose of PBL is to teach children in a more authentic and interesting manner and to help them grow and improve upon these important 21st century skills.

Lunch and Snack Lunch is $3.05 this year.
Please send lunch money in an envelope labeled “lunch money”, and include your child’s name and lunch number. We ask that you send in a healthy, dry, disposable snack item. Snacks should be easy for the student to eat independently and quickly. Water bottles tend to cause unsafe spills and/or damage items in your child’s backpack. We encourage water fountain usage over sending water bottles.
