Foster independence and improve quality of life for individuals with disadvantages or developmental disabilities through maximum effort of the organization’s staff, membership and volunteers
Provide vocational programming for individuals with disabilities who may not be able to work competitively in the community, or who may need assistance in maintaining competitive employment

Place where adults with disabilities learn job skills, gain confidence, and achieve success in the workplace
Each individual is matched with a job and earns a paycheck, which leads to self-esteem and independence.
There are hundreds of success stories at Lincoln Training Center, and they celebrate each of them

Workers are paid for their services according to their participation and productivity
They receive vacation pay, bonuses and workers compensation benefits
The activities at Lincoln Training Center are monitored by a 15- member volunteer board of directors comprised of business, service and community leaders from the Los Angeles County area.

9. Services Provided at Lincoln Training Center
Transition Partnership Program (TPP):
Opportunity for students, prior to graduating from their special education program to gain exposure to the world-of-work through onsite classrooms and work-for-pay
Habilitation:
Teach individuals with developmental disabilities basic work skills, assist them in raising such skills to meet industrial standards, and learn how to develop and maintain social relationships within a work environment

10. …Continued . Vocational Rehabilitation- Work Activity Program (VR-WAP)
Provides additional support to clients wishing to make the transition from the base-operated work services program into the community-based supported employment program.
Supported Employment
Places workers into community job settings
Jobs range from janitorial, landscaping, inventory control, packaging, retail and clerical work
Client Counsel:
promotes self advocacy and provides education to other clients

Disabled Veterans Workforce Program:
Collaborates with partners like the Veterans Administration, VA Hospitals, local veterans support organizations and others, veterans with disabilities will be provided with adaptive job training skills
Job program for veterans with disabilities will enable Veterans to capitalize on programs, experiences, and contracts already in place
Staff will help assimilate disabled veterans into jobs where they can utilize these skills
*This program will help veterans once again feel part of a team, and help them earn a sustainable wage.

12. Our Role at Lincoln Training Center
Spend down time with clients, helping conduct activities and games throughout the day to keep clients busy and productive. Activities include but are not limited to games, arts and crafts, reading, math, etc.
When job assignments are received at the facility, we help with these assignments, this includes but is not limited to packing, palletizing, keeping work lines organized.
We sit in on annual and semi-annual meetings with clients where progress, attendance, and productivity are measured. We also help with client notes and taking note of client behavior and progress.

13. In House Orientation
Orientation meeting during first week with Site Supervisor/Case Manager which covered policies and procedures, work ethic, etc.
We were each given volunteer handbook with general information about LTC, rules, dress code, etc.
Tour of LTC
Constantly being informed of behaviors and habits that are client specific.
We were also each assigned to a client.
