Why did the Ancient Greeks make progress in medicine than the Egyptians? Explain your answer.
The Egyptians advances in medicine were mainly achieved by religion and chance. They knew more about anatomy because of mummification and the way they took out the main organs. They could not carry on because they needed the body for the afterlife. They were healthy due to chance. Their ideas of public health came from religious idea about keeping clean and having shaved heads. This stopped disease and lice. They did invent papyrus which meant they could write medical knowledge down: Papyrus ebers. They also had their own natural idea of causes and cure of disease. This was based on the river Nile and blockages that occurred. There were three blockages.
