What is Tuberculosis? TB is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis It usually attacks the lungs but it can attack any part of the body There is a difference between latent TB infection (LTBI) and TB disease TB disease can be fatal if not treated; was once the leading cause of death in the United States.
