Bump It Up School The Premier’s priority in education is to increase the proportion of students in the top two bands of NAPLAN for reading and numeracy by 8% by 2019 through implementation of targeted reading and numeracy initiatives under the Bump It Up strategy. Narellan Vale PS is 1 of 137 schools identified. The Bump It Up strategy focusses on identifying students who are doing well and who, the data suggests, have the greatest capacity to achieve in the top two NAPLAN bands. By identifying students who are currently achieving in the middle bands of NAPLAN, and implementing locally-developed targeted initiatives to improve their performance in reading and numeracy and enhance their overall education outcomes. Assemblies Whole School Assembly Monday Mornings: Weekly at 9.00am
Monday afternoons 2:00-3:00pm (wk 3, 6, 9) Stage 2 Assembly Wednesday 2: pm (even weeks)

Stage 2 Sports Program Stage 2 sport 9am Friday morning
Term 1 & Term 4 students will participate in a range of sport specific skill sessions Term 2 Razorback PSSA Winter Gala Days (Netball, Soccer, AFL, Rugby League and Hockey). Trials will be held towards the end of Term 1. Students not attending gala days will participate in sport specific skill based development sessions. (12th May, 2nd June and 23rd June) Term 3 Razorback PSSA Summer Gala Days (League Tag, Touch Football, Cricket and T-Ball/Softball). Trials will be held towards the end of Term 1. Students not attending gala days will participate in sport specific skill based development sessions. (18th August, 15th September and 22nd September)

Stage 2 Excursions Possible excursions for Stage 2 this year are;
Minnamurra Rainforest (Science) Camden Community Tour (HSIE) Year 3 Camp – 1 night?? Year 4 Camp – 2 nights??

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)
Use is at the discretion of classroom teacher 21st century learning tool Allows for improved engagement and access to a range of new learning experiences Encourages student to stay connected, build a digital footprint and prepares them for life in the 21st century Students and parents/caregivers to sign user agreement prior to device being used at school

P&C Meetings – Wednesdays in Weeks 2 and 7 of each term. Meetings begin at 7pm and are held in the staff room. P&C meetings are open to all members of the school and community to attend. P&C hold many fundraising events throughout the year, such as, Mother’s and Father’s day stalls, Art Calendars, sausage sizzles at some of our carnivals and more! The P&C are always looking for volunteers to assist. If you are interested please leave your contact details at the office.
