You have 2 options for this journal entry. Entries should be approx. 1 whole page. Option 1: Creative Create your own journal entry as Anne did. Describe your life as you see it and— perhaps—as you would like others to see it. Include similar details about friends, school, how you spend your time, etc. Then imagine you and your family are faced with danger and must walk away from everything you know into an unknown situation. How would you react? What would you do? How would you feel? Option 2: Reflective Reflect on Anne’s journal entry. What are your impressions of her? Does she remind you of you or any of your friends? Someone your age who you know? Is there anything that surprises you about her journal entries? Describe how she reacts to finding out that she and her family must go into hiding. How does this compare to how you think you might react?

3 Journal Entry #19: Anne Frank-2 (Feb 23)
Again, you have 2 options for this journal entry. Entries should be approx. 1 whole page. Option 1: Creative Create your own journal entry as Anne did. Describe what you think life would be like if you were in hiding. Imagine you are in the small space with the same people every day, all day. Add the fact that you would need to be still and quiet for most of the day. What would bother you most? How would your family members react? How would you feel about them? What would you miss? How would you pass your time? Option 2: Reflective Reflect on Anne’s diary entries. What are your impressions of her? How is she doing dealing with this imposed circumstance? How do you feel about the people in hiding? Does anything about the families surprise you? Irritate you? Impress you? How does Anne’s family compare to what your family would be like in a similar situation? Consider that we are only a short time in to the two years they spent in the annex. What are your predictions for what it will be like for those in hiding a year from now? Journal Entry #19: Anne Frank-2 (Feb 23)
