MCC Spanish 251 / 252 A unique partnership with McHenry County College that will benefit District 155 Spanish students!

2 Spanish IV Dual Credit You can take Spanish here at CLS and earn 8 college credits as well as high school credit Dual Credit is taught by a CLS Spanish teacher that follows MCC’s curriculum Students must pass a placement test given in April in Spanish 3

3 8 credits!!! You will earn 8 college credits that you can transfer to most other colleges and universities IACAC credits – check with your schools’ of interest admissions offices allows you to verify if you can transfer the credit These credits will probably be applied to your general education requirements in college If you are interested in continuing with Spanish, you will start at a higher level and be closer to a minor if desired

5 SPAN 252 (2nd semester)

6 Why should I take this class?
8 college credits saves you approximately $2,000 - $4,000 This will save you time as well in college and give you flexibility if you drop a class or take other classes in which you are interested You also may fulfill the college language/liberal arts requirement with this credit or it could put you farther ahead in the language if interested in majoring/minoring in Spanish

7 NEXT STEPS: During registration, tell them that you are interested in Dual Credit (this is not final) Try your hardest on the test in April… you must score a 50% to be eligible for the class If you pass the test, you will have to fill out paperwork for MCC
