2. FB4G Training Targets Intro to FlashBack-4/4G interfaces.
Setup FB4G with HD micro-camera.
Upgrade firmware / format SD card if necessary.
Setup DVR, 4G modem and server connection (if used) via SD card wizard.
Ensure FB4G is on-line via status LEDs.
Setup connection to CrossFire and stream live video and control the DVR.

8. Initial Boot Insert SD card and power-up FB4G.
DVR and video LEDs flash red during boot.
Wait until the DVR status LED turns green. If it doesn‘t, card may need formatting (see next page).
In summary, Green LEDs are good, the more the red the bigger the issue.

10. Formatting FB4 SD cards
SD cards of greater than 32 GB must be formatted FAT32 by the FlashBack-4 before use.
Incorrect format is indicated by a fast flashing DVR status LED after boot.
To format, press the recessed button shown below and wait for the DVD status to go steady green.

11. FB4 Firmware Upgrade
Copy the update file to the root of an SD card. Update files are of the form “fb4_update_vX.Y.ZZZZ.tgz”
Ensure the FlashBack-4 is booted (for at least 30 seconds) and is disconnected from the network and not recording.
Insert SD card with the upgrade file into the unit.
The unit will then start flashing the three LEDs in a circular pattern.
IMPORTANT wait for up to 5 minutes. The LEDs go out towards the end of the upgrade sequence. Do not remove the power or SD card at this point; wait for the unit to reboot.
After the reboot is complete, wait a further 30 seconds before removing the card. The unit is ready once the DVR Status LED shows static green.

Remove SD card and open the “wizard folder”. Double-click FB4-Wiz.... exe

Enter the server and 4G connection parameters

14. Power-up the FB4G Insert card with the wizard configuration.
Wait for two green modem LEDs;
Left LED confirms 3 or 4G signal, the middle an internet connection.
The right-hand modem LED will not go green unless a valid server IP has been entered. (This is not required if using a static IP SIM).

FlashBack-4 is included within the Camera list under “Ovation”.
Set the required streaming parameters.
Enter the IP address of the FB4.
