Tier Structure:Liaisons
Hold one event per year Philanthropic Around up event cost by $1 or to the nearest whole dollar Dinner with live or silent auction Alumni networking Speaker or panel discussion with a reception post event Wine Tasting Student and alumni networking Work with Katrina Heilmeier We created the tier structure, as if we were starting from scratch. We took our personal relationships with the volunteers out of the equation to try and create a structure that would help our groups grow and our volunteers succeed. Now all groups start as liaisons. Able to move up the tier structure, but not necessarily required.

Tier Structure: Next Steps
Network - Host 2 events per year Small board Chapter or society – Host 4 events per year Executive board and meetings 1,000 in geographic area or able to participate *Can not duplicate an existing group These are the next steps for liaisons. You know not all groups will be able or want to advance to these levels and we’re fine with that.

Volunteer Alumni Admissions Network
(VAAN) represents a major effort on the part of Ohio University to expand, increase, and refine its student recruitment activities. It further represents a commitment by the university, undergraduate admissions, and alumni relations to the future excellence of the institution. We realize that alumni, parents of OHIO students/graduates, and others who have been positively touched by the university have a great deal to offer in terms of knowledge, skills, and expertise. All groups are required to have one member participate in the VAAN program. Groups must register for the VAAN program as individuals. For a list of VAAN opportunities and to register please visit this website.

OHIO Alumni Association Board Of Directors
Comprised 28 OHIO graduates from many different backgrounds, your alumni association board represents the diversity of more than 200,000 bobcats worldwide. The members serve to uphold the mission of the association - to connect you with your alma mater. The alumni association board meets three times a year. They consult with students, campus stakeholders, community leaders, legislators, and alumni. Bobcats forever, their work continues even after serving their term, at which point they join the Thomas Ewing Society. The board is also divided into committees. External and Campus Relations and Awards, are three of these committees. The two committees that directly accept you our volunteers as a whole are External Relations and Awards.
13
External Relations Committee
The external relations committee advises the association regarding programs and services that are externally focused and engage alumni, including but not limited to alumni chapters, societies, and friends of the university, signature events, reunions, communication and online community initiatives. When possible, committee members assist and participate in such activities to enhance effectiveness of the committee.

The president or leader of your group will receive an with instructions for the year end report including due dates. An for this year’s reports will be going out in early June with a due date of July 31. These reports are important for your group because our board uses these reports to recertify your group, which is how you get event help, promotion, a university account and tier funding.
