About 90% of the new students get accepted. The new students must have some good GPA’s and good grades. Cal State San Marcos recognized student research as an integral part of student learning. CSUSM is always looking for new ways to provide apportunities for students. CSUSM has new and exciting events planned for the students. They have orientations and to provide assistance to all new students! There are about 80 school organizations. Students can choose to join one , or make one organization their own. Student organizations provide a unique and supportive setting where students can learn and grow from each other. Student life and leadership offers programs and resources that encourage students to strive in a variety of areas. With the help of the San Marcos organzations you will success after graduating. Lecture – 1 contact hour = 1 credit hour = 1 unit Activity – 2 contact hours = 1 credit hour = 1 unit Laboratory – 3 contact hours = 1 credit hour = 1 unit 1 Full Time Equivalent Student (FTE) = 15 hours = 15 units Annual FTE (Semester System) = 30 units Annual FTE(Quarter System) = 45 units
