2 Religion in China China - a country where there are many different religions. In addition to the three world religions - Buddhism, Islam and Christianity - in China there is still a kind of traditional religious teaching - Taoism. In addition, some national minorities still persists primitive worship of the forces of nature and polytheism. Some Chinese (Han) are adherents of Christianity or Buddhism, but the majority of believers profess traditional Chinese religion - Taoism.

3 Buddhism in China In China, Mahayana Buddhism is widespread, promising deliverance from suffering to everyone who suffers gain. Enlightened, or bodhisattva, remain in this world to help others attain enlightenment. His deeds and pious believers deserve communion with bodhisattvas, brings them closer to nirvana. In China, there are two Buddhist traditions: the actual Chinese Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism.Among ethnic Tibetans widespread Tibetan Buddhism.

5 Religion in Japan Religion in Japan is mainly represented by Buddhism and Shintoism. [1] Most believers in Japan consider themselves to both religions at once, indicating that the religious syncretism. In 1886, during the Meiji Restoration, Shinto was declared the sole and mandatory state religion of the Japanese state. After the Second World War, with the adoption of the new Japanese Constitution in 1947, Shinto lost this status.

6 Christianity appeared in Japan
Christianity appeared in Japan in the middle of the XIX century, thanks to the Russian missionary St. Nicholas of Japan. By 1912 (the year of the death of Archbishop Nicholas of Japan) in Japan, there were 266 Orthodox communities and about 33 thousand people are Orthodox Christians. Today, at the beginning of the XXI century, in Japan, there are more than 36 thousand persons professing Orthodoxy. Orthodox Church of Japan has more independence and autonomy rights is part of the Russian Orthodox Church.

7 Shintoism Traditional Japanese religion of Shinto is considered. Based on the animistic beliefs of the ancient Japanese objects of worship are many deities and spirits of the dead. Experienced in their development a significant influence of Buddhism.
