1 What are the amplitude, period, and translations of: y=2sin(2x-π)-3
Tuesday, October 19 What are the amplitude, period, and translations of: y=2sin(2x-π)-3

2 Lesson 4.7 Inverse Trigonometry

3 Every trig function has an inverse.
These functions have a prefix of “arc” Such as Arcsine, arccosine, etc

4 If sin y = x, then y = arcsin x
Inverse Sine Function If sin y = x, then y = arcsin x

5 On a calculator the arcsine is found by using sin-1 button

6 Evaluate on a calculator:
Arcsin ½ Arctan 1 Arcsin (3/2) Arccos .22

7 More evaluating: Sin(arcsin 0.7) Sin(arctan 4/3)

8 So, what is the main purpose of inverse trig?
Finding the measure of Θ (angle measures)

9 Classwork/ Homework: Pages 351-352 #9-15, 19-23, 27-45 (odd)
