In the US it’s around 300 years
In some parts of Asia, Africa and Latin America it’s only 25 years!

Uses birth rates and death rates to show changes in the population trends of a country or region.

Birthrate: The number of births every year per 1000 people.
Death rate: The number of deaths per year per 1000 people.
Natural Increase: (Growth Rate) the difference between birthrate and death rate.
Migration: Movement of people from place to place

10. Does population always increase?
Current trend is for population increase
Negative change occurs when death rates exceeds birthrates per year
This often causes a reliance on foreign labor and immigration.

What areas are the most heavily populated?
Which areas of the Northern Hemisphere are most densely populated? Why?
Population density: The number of people living on a square mile or square kilometer of land.
