Example 6: (A,B) Diagnostic mammography was obtained in this 70-year-old woman for a palpable mass in the right breast. There is a large speculated, irregular high-density mass (arrows) with fine linear calcifications and nipple retraction (dashed arrows). Findings are highly suggestive of malignancy and are reported as BIRADS 5. (C) Ultrasound image of the mass also shows an irregular hypoechoic mass with some increased internal blood flow (arrows). The appearance is also highly suggestive of malignancy. US guided biopsy was performed showing invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast.
