National Homebuyers Fund, Inc. (NHF) is a non-profit public benefit corporation established in 2002 to stimulate and expand homeownership opportunities nationwide.
NHFis a proven champion for affordable and responsible homeownership, having helped more than 33,800 individuals or families purchase a home and providing more than $288 million in down payment assistance. (115 Document)
NHF models its homeownership programs around affordability and flexibility. Through its multi-state single-family financing program, NHF provides affordable interest rates and Down Payment Assistance (DPA) for both returning and first-time homebuyers. Various options/levels of assistance are available to meet each household's specific needs.
NHF also manages Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) and Energy Efficiency Financing programs available in California.

In 2015, two wildfires raged through Lake and Calaveras Counties causing wide-spread devastation. The Valley Fire (Lake) scorched over 76,000 acres, destroyed nearly 2,000 residential properties and killed four people. It is considered the third-worst fire in California history based on total structures burned. The Butte Fire (Calaveras) burned 64,000 acres, destroyed 549 homes and claimed the lives of two individuals.
In response to these devastating fires, in December 2015, the Board of Directors of Golden State Finance Authority (GSFA) approved a grant of $1.5 million for disaster relief assistance. The first $500,000 was allocated in January 2016 for direct assistance to residents procuring immediate temporary housing and/or shelter in the wake of the fires ($350,000 to Lake and $150,000 to Calaveras). The second phase focused on longer term recovery efforts and provided an additional $1 million ($700,000 to Lake and $300,000 to Calaveras) to assist residents with rebuilding or obtaining future long-term residency.

13. Environmental Services Joint Powers Authority (ESJPA)
Formed in 1993, the ESJPA is a local government agency comprised of 23 rural member counties.
Assists members to help meet new challenging and costly State and Federal mandates regulating local solid waste management.
Provides regulatory and legislative advocacy and technical assistance.
5 Board meetings per year
Offer opportunities to have state regulatory staff and industry leaders give presentations on current issues and meet local solid waste managers.
Provide a forum for networking among county solid waste managers.
