Technology Updates January: Internet upgrade will be taking place doubling the current District internet capacity from 1Gbps to 2Gbps Submitting to BOE for approval a new WAN fiber speed agreement: AT&T Take effect July 1, 2017 for five years Increase WAN fiber speeds (network connection speeds) between schools to 1Gbps Currently secondary buildings at 500Mbps and elementary schools are at 250Mbps The end of last school year the WAN speeds were 100Mpbs Splitting locations which are currently sharing a connection – FHN and Henderson ES, FHC and Saeger ES, Barnwell MS and Becky-David ES, and Bryan MS and Independence ES Tech Committee share: goo.gl/gAnel8

SMART Goal Examples All schools will demonstrate a 3% decrease in ISS and a 5% decrease in OSS. All schools will have 80% of teachers report on the building climate survey they “agree” or “strongly agree” on all 5 staff questions. Using input from financial planning session with the Board of Education, the Finance and Operations Committee will develop strategies to help ensure a fund balance of 15% through the end of FY18 to meet cash flow requirements and provide for student learning needs consistent with the District’s strategic plan. SMART Goal Examples The HR department will provide high quality workforce planning and operational support to principals as measured by: • 90% of building principals responding “agree” or “strongly agree” on a June 2016 survey that the HR department provides an ample supply of high quality candidates • 90% of principals responding “agree” or “strongly agree” to all questions on a quarterly climate survey The District will receive a grade of “B” or better from community members on a May survey that they feel informed about District initiatives and have opportunities to provide input. Proposed goals: Student & Teacher Professional Learning: By 2020, at least two district schools will become a Certified Digital Citizenship School through Common Sense Education. Technical Support: Annually Technology Department will receive 90% agree and strongly agree on the customer surveys. Student Learning & Resource Distribution & Use: Improve student to device ratio 10% by 2020. Administration & Data Management: By 2019, FHSD will become a certified Trusted Learning Environment.
