Prepare yourself for a rigorous learning experience that will stretch you beyond your own imagined capabilities. Remember: Your success depends on your effort, not your excuses! GRADES Progress reports are issued by the school. Please keep up with your grades by accessing iNow on a regular basis. It is your responsibility to ensure your iNow login information is current and working. Extra credit opportunities are given. However, the student’s average is based solely on his/her performance on class assignments. All efforts should be made to maintain the desired average throughout the semester. Behavior INTERVENTIONS Maturity is a process, and sometimes students make decisions that come with less-than-desirable consequences. In the event behavior interrupts the learning process, the following two things will occur: Conference w/ Student Parent Contact and Conference If the behavior is to the extent where administrative involvement is necessary, or the first interventions do not work, a referral will be issued. Students will be provided various positive behavior incentives for doing well inside and outside of the classroom. Absences LATE WORK It is the responsibility of the student to retrieve and complete all missing assignments. Assignments receive a 10-point discount each day they are late. All work is due no later than 3 days after an excused absence and 1 week prior to grading period end date. MAKING UP ASSESSMENTS Tests and quizzes must be made up immediately upon return to school. The Make-up date is TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS after school. Students are afforded 2 sessions after an absence to make up assessments from 3:05 to 3:35 p.m.

Students are expected to demonstrate consistent effort and mastery of the Standards of Learning and the curriculum objectives. A dramatic decline in performance and the student does not demonstrate a mastery of learning objectives the student can attend tutorials, utilize Moby Max, or attend lunch sessions. Failure to bring necessary materials, or complete assigned work will result in academic detention from 3:05-3:35 p.m. or Saturday Session. Homework will be assigned on Tuesday and Thursdays of each week. Students are encouraged to use Homeroom responsibly to study and complete assignments. E. Hinton Antigone by Sophocles Julius Caesar by Shakespeare ACCEPTABLE USE Students will be required to adhere to the Lee County Schools Acceptable Use Policy. Please refer to the LHS Student Conduct Policy Guidelines for Parents and Students issued on the first day of school. Technology will be used for instruction only. EXTRA HELP ATTENDANCE Students will be required to adhere to the Lee County Schools attendance policy. Please refer to the Loachapoka High School Student Handbook. Saturday Sessions Students are encouraged to set an appointment with Ms. Boyd. Please be advised parents are responsible for drop off and pickup. Failure to be on time can result in loss of this opportunity. HONOR CODE The HONOR CODE covers all class assignments, including homework. Copying someone else’s assignment is cheating and all students involved will be assigned a grade of zero. COMMUNICATION BLOOMZ Please sign up for our class’s reminder service BLOOMZ.
