HoloLens: The hands-on experience
Welcome HoloLens: The hands-on experience HoloLens: The hands-on experience Microsoft HoloLens is not exactly a holographic system, but don’t hold that against it. The reality is that it is something special, extraordinary even. It may be the first virtual-reality device to truly blend the virtual and the real in one seamless, head-mounted experience. We'll will have a closer look at our first impression and experience and share our thoughts of how useful this device can become in an ever changing IT landscape.

The digital transformation

… digital usages inherently enable new types of innovation and creativity in a particular domain, rather than simply enhance and support the traditional methods. The digital transformation If you look up digital transformation, Digital transformation is defined as the changes associated with the application of digital technology in all aspects of human society. Digital transformation may be thought of as the third stage of embracing digital technologies: digital competence → digital usage → digital transformation, with usage and transformative ability informing digital literacy. The transformation stage means that digital usages inherently enable new types of innovation and creativity in a particular domain, rather than simply enhance and support the traditional methods.

Windows has been synonymous with a PC. However, as this slide illustrates, Windows devices are no longer just the realm of PCs – from IoT to Perceptive Pixel Interfaces (PPIs).

Augmented Reality vs. Virtual Reality
What are the differences and similarities What is Augmented Reality (AR) Augmented reality is the blending of virtual reality and real life, as developers can create images within applications that blend in with contents in the real world. With AR, users are able to interact with virtual contents in the real world, and are able to distinguish between the two. What is Virtual Reality (VR) Virtual reality is all about the creation of a virtual world that users can interact with. This virtual world should be designed in such a way that users would find it difficult to tell the difference from what is real and what is not. Furthermore, VR is usually achieved by the wearing of a VR helmet or goggles similar to the Oculus Rift. Difference and similarities Both virtual reality and augmented reality are similar in the goal of immersing the user, though both systems to this in different ways. With AR, users continue to be in touch with the real world while interacting with virtual objects around them. With VR, the user is isolated from the real world while immersed in a world that is completely fabricated. As it stands, VR might work better for video games and social networking in a virtual environment, such as Second Life, or even PlayStation Home.
