1. The House With a Clock in Its Walls

2. What’s the crime/mystery/problem?
First Problem: Lewis and Tarby have accidentally raised Selenna Izard from the dead. Pg. 32.
Second Problem: There is a clock in the walls of Johnathon’s house that is ticking. Selenna who was accidentally resurrected from the dead, will try to go to the house and start the clock to end the world!!! Pg

3. What type of Mystery:
The type of novel that this book would best correspond to is GOTHIC NOVELS.
Reasons to believe: there are warlocks, witches, supernatural powers, and black magic. Pg. 20.

4. Uncertainty and/or Suspense
There is uncertainty when Lewis wonders what came out of the tomb when he and Tarby went to the cemetery. Pg. 32
There is more uncertainty when Lewis, Johnathon, and Mrs. Zimmerman can’t find the clock in Johnathon’s house. Pg. 170.
There is also uncertainty because of the group can’t find the group, the clock will destroy the whole world. Pg. 172.

5. Clues
The Omega on Selenna’s tomb was a clue. It’s a clue because instead of putting Selenna’s last name on the tomb he put the Omega, which means the end of the world. It makes the readers think that she will try to end the world. Pg. 33.
There are also clues to where the clock is in Johnathon’s house. When the group gets to the basement, the ticking of the clock is overbearing, telling them that the clock is near. Pg. 167.

6. Who do you think are the suspects? Why so?
We think that Selenna Izard is the suspect. Like the previous side, her tomb says her name and then omega. This probably means that she will try to end the world. Pg. 36.

7. How is the mystery solved??
After Mrs. Zimmerman has fought off Selenna, the group go to Johnathon’s house to find the clock. As they hear the ticking getting louder they go down to the basement.
They now see the clock but out of nowhere, Selenna pops up and make Mrs. Z and Johnathon freeze.
Luckily, Lewis is not frozen and runs to the clock. He throws it against a wall and the clock shatters to pieces.
Selenna turn to a pile of clothes never to be seen again.
