6. Police Escorts CHANGES FOR THE HFNR001 IN 2014
The final decision has now been made and we will still be able to use the Park Police escorts!
However the policy will be a bit different now. The Park Police have determined that the procedure should be that one Public Gathering Permit will be issued to the
Honor Flight Network and it will cover all escort requests for a period of four months. Jim McLaughlin will submit that
permit request and the permit will be issued to Jim.
Each Hub wishing to use the escort service must send Jim McLaughlin:
The date of your trip
The airport you will be using.
The time the escort will need to be at the airport.
The time of return to the airport.
How many buses you will have.
Your itinerary.
First permit will cover the months of March, April, May and June. The first requests for 2014 were due prior to February 15th.
Once Jim receives the permit, he will copy it to each requesting Hub, so you can contact the Park Police to arrange payment for the police escort. As before the rate is $66 per hour for two officers and a minimum of 5 hours The primary contact will be Officer Walker ( , Officer Marker ( , be a secondary contact.
