What is DPM?
DPM stands for Diesel Particulate Matter.
In Underground Coal mines it is a term used to reference the exhaust fumes that are expelled from vehicles while underground.

What is DPM ?
The aim of DPM management is to limit exposure of personnel to potentially harmful diesel exhaust emissions to an agreed acceptable risk level.
This is achieved by:
Controlling the number of operating diesel vehicles in a ventilation district
Ensuring that the ventilation quantity in that ventilation district meets relevant is sufficient to dilute diesel exhaust fumes and particulates and to ensure compliance with the requirements and appropriate Regulations
