4. I. Rebate & Price reduction by MIHWAF
Company-Hosted Overseas Conferences (CHOM)
In the session, we emphasized the necessity of CHOM with scientific or educational purpose.
TG Lee expressed his negative position on that because conferences held outside of Korea are beyond of government control. Once ethical business practice is settled in pharmaceutical industry in 2-3 years, MIHWAF will consider CHOM.

5. II. Code Revision Company-hosted overseas meetings on BOD discussion
A suggestion was made to categorize CHOM into investigator meetings and educational meetings to secure endorsement by KFTC.
EBP Chair position – Not to categorize CHOM
Categorization may lead to differentiated levels of regulation based on the characteristic of the conferences
It might be loose our chance to get an endorsement on all of the two types of the conferences as providing possible options for KFTC to choose just on of them for easy endorsement.

6. II. Code Revision
Permission of Cash presentation on wedding/funeral on BOD discussion in Aug.
To make alignment with MIHWAF regulation, cash presentation should be allowed in revised Code with exemption procedure to IFPMA Code.
EBP Chair position – Not to allow cash presentation
We should keep our past stance aligned to IFPMA Code and global standard.
If CHOM remains as the only point of difference between the two Codes, then we are truly compromising our chances to get endorsement and we believe as multi national R&D companies this is a critical need.

When a member company conduct a donation to above entities, a supporting document for all 9 condition is not required.
