3 Why do you need Ping™ 6? What is Ping™ 6?
Ping™ 6 is a newly developed, small and light weight GPS/GSM device designed as a compact protection, surveillance and alarm tool. Who needs Ping™ 6? Everybody who wants to keep track of their personal belongings, vehicles or even dear ones. What can Ping™ 6 do for you? Ping™ 6 helps you to monitor the exact location of your possessions, children or similar. You can even do a voice call to your Ping™ 6 and listen in what happens close by the Ping™ 6.

4 Technical specification
Wireless network standards, GSM Tri Band 900/1800/1900 networks. GPS high-performance 12 channel receiver. Internal microphone, listen on function. Standard battery 1000 mAh giving up to 120 h stand-by time. Mini USB interface for programming with a PC. Comes in two different versions, Ping™ 6 int. with internal antennas and Ping™ 6 ext. with external antennas (for hidden or indoor installation).

5 Application Possibilities
Theft and burglary alarm Personal Protection Personal Surveillance Personal Surveillance of vehicle Anchor alarm for boats

6 Theft and burglary alarm
Ping™ 6 can be used to send an alarm in case of theft or burglary. The alarm is sent as an SMS to 1-5 predefined phone numbers which are programmed into the software of the device. The SMS contains information about the whereabouts of the device and if the device is moving. You can also obtain information about the position, direction and speed of your Ping™ 6. You can always call the device and make a functioning control whereby information about the position of the device is sent back.

7 Personal Protection Ping™ 6 can be used for several different purposes and applications. When the device is used for personal protection information of the position of the person, if the person is moving and the direction and speed of the person can be obtained. The device can be carried completely hidden in clothes or in a handbag or rucksack. To improve connectivity, external GPS/GSM antennas can be connected (Ping™ 6 ext.). In case of an emergency the person carrying the Ping™ 6 device can use an hidden external alarm button to call for help. The receiver of the alarm call can send a silent acknowledgement to the person carrying the Ping™ 6 device with help of the vibration function of the device. In case of an alarm, the microphone on the Ping™ 6 device opens automatically so one can listen in on the sounds from the surrounding of the device. One can always call the device and make a functioning control whereby information about the position of the device is sent back.

8 Personal Surveillance
Ping™ 6 can also be used for surveying children, elderly people or others who would be in in need for assistance and therefore located quickly.

9 Tracking of vehicles Another important feature of the Ping™ 6 device is position surveillance of vehicles, cars, caravans, motor homes and machinery etc. The Ping™ 6 device is placed hidden in the vehicle and is activated for automatic alarm transmission if the vehicle is moved more than a preset distance (for example 50 meters). When the vehicle is moving one can continuously receive information about the position, direction and speed of the vehicle.

10 Anchor alarm for boats When a boat that is moored is moved (due to theft or other reasons) more than a preset distance (for example 50 meters) one can obtain information about position, direction and speed of the boat from the Ping™ 6 device.

NMEA output Voice calling

12 Messaging Position updates, tracking updates and other alarms are transmitted as SMS messages by the Ping™ 6 device. Sending the SMS messages containing the location data is automatic when the desired mode is turned on and when the predefined conditions are met. The SMS messages are sent to the phone numbers that are defined as the destination numbers in the configuration software. You can send an update request to your Ping™ 6 by using your special phone application i.e. Twig Navigation. When a position update request is received by the Ping™ 6 device it automatically checks if the senders phone number is in the White list. If the phone number is in the White list or if there are no numbers defined in the White list, the calling phone number is considered valid and a position update is send as a reply.

13 Stand-by mode When Ping™ 6 is turned on it enters into stand-by mode. While in stand-by mode the device is not activated with any function but is ready to receive and answer location requests. Stand-by mode is left when another mode is activated.

14 Positioning Positioning is activated by sending Ping™ 6 a ?LOC message via SMA from a mobile phone or a back end system supporting MPTP protocol. Immediately an INF message with position, time, speed and direction will be received. Positioning can also be activated by sending the Ping™ 6 device a NRPOS message in the same way as above with the difference that the answer back will be more readable in a phone display

15 Vibration Three short vibrations is activated by sending the Ping™ 6 device a NRVIB message from a mobile phone or a back end system supporting MPTP protocol.

16 Anchor Anchor mode can be used to “fix” the Ping™ 6 device to a defined position. In anchor mode the Ping™ 6 device is continuously calculating its position and comparing it with the position it had when the “fix” was entered. Anchor mode is switched on to alarm mode if Ping™ 6 moves further than allowed from its original position. You can set the alarm triggering distance by defining maximum allowed movements with the configuration software that comes with the Ping™ 6 device . To enter anchor mode press and hold down the anchor button for about 5 seconds. You can deactivate the mode by pressing the anchor button again. Anchor mode can be activated simultaneously with tracking alarm modes.

17 Alarm Alarm mode is activated when the alarm button is pressed and held down for 3 seconds. Alarm mode can also be activated by pressing an external alarm button if one is connected. Alarm mode is activated automatically when the Ping™ 6 device is moved outside the defined location while in anchor mode. While in alarm mode the Ping™ 6 device is running at full power and is ready to respond to the commands that it is receiving. The mode is automatically left after one hour or if another mode is activated by a command.

18 NMEA output The Ping™ 6 device can also send position information as a NMEA strings. NMEA, a GPS based data transferring standard is used to transfer data from the Ping™ 6 device to a PC. NMEA mode can be activated while in any other mode. Just connect the Ping™ 6 device to a PC with enclosed mini USB cable. Activate the NMEA mode by pressing and holding down both the anchor and the alarm button at the same time for 3 seconds. When the mode is activated NMEA data sending is started. If you want to leave the NMEA mode, press and hold down the buttons again

19 Voice calling Voice calling enables you to listen to what is going on near the Ping™ 6 device. By placing a call to the Ping™ 6 device, it’s microphone opens. A voice call can be initiated by the Ping™ 6 device itself or by a mobile phone calling the device. The phone numbers that the Ping™ 6 device should call are defined in the configuration software that comes with every device (for further details see Ping™ 6 User manual “Configuration”. When a call is coming from a mobile phone and the automatic answer is set to “off” the call is automatically rejected. If the automatic answer is set to “on” the calling phone number is compared to the phone numbers defined in the White list. If the number is in the White list or the White list is not defined the call is accepted and the microphone opens.

20 How can I graphically display the locations sent by my Ping™ 6 device?
The locations sent out by the Ping™ 6 device can be displayed in several different ways depending. Entering coordinates into a GPS Using service with TWIG

21 Eniro With the Eniro solution you can easily get the map in your mobile. Just send a location update message to PING ™ 6 and you will receive a message back from PING ™ 6. Just forward this message to Eniro and Eniro will send back a message to you with details of the PING ™ 6 location and with links you will get the position of your PING ™ 6 on the display

22 TWIGme With TWIGme you can easily get the position of your PING ™ 6 with help of your computer. Just click on the locate button and a message is sent to your PING ™ 6 and the location will appear on your screen. With the zoom option it’s very easy to get an overview of where your PING ™ 6 is

23 You can zoom all the way down to street level, so you know the exact location to your vehicle, child or other important valuables. A twelve month subscription to TWIG internet service The online tracking and locating application
