7 Climate - Tropical Massive rains during monsoon seasons are needed, but can be very dangerous.

8 Culture – Although there are huge cities in Southeast Asia, 70-80% of the people live in rural areas. Traditional houses of Baliem, Papua, Indonesia

Jute, deodar, dawn redwood, ginkgo, teak, pattan, and nutmeg are all plants of Southeast Asia. Sandalwood, raffleesia, betet palm, and rubber trees are also included in this category. Also included are bamboo trees, rice, turmeric, opium poppy, paduak, mango, tea, cinnamon, cotton, sugar cane, wheat, other crops. Without these plants, Asia surely wouldn't have survived as long as it has.

Fishing is a huge industry for Southeast Asians and that is reflected in their food dishes they prepare.

**Islam (Brought in by Arabic Traders) **Buddhism dominates most of the Northern Region (Brought in from South Asia) Hinduism is still practiced in parts of Indonesia and Cambodia Roman Catholic in East Timor Tribal religions Islam from Traders Arabic …Middle East! Buddhism brought in from India.
