Between the crosses row on row,

8. Lest We Forget They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

9. Simpson and his Donkey
Simpson Kirkpatrick was born in 1892 at South Shields in the north east of England. On the 25th April 1915 he, along with the rest of the Australian and New Zealand soldiers landed at the wrong beach. In the morning of April 26th Jack was carrying wounded soldiers on to the beach over his solder and he saw the donkey. He knew he had to keep him to help him carry all of the wounded soldiers

12. Communication in 1914
Although the telephone was invented there was no electricity
Radios were used often but if Radios broke down they used carrier pigeons instead
Carrier pigeons were used to send messages to other soldiers in other areas of trenches.
Wire and wireless radios were used by the army to warn people about bombers
