Hybrid Networking Creating “lightpaths” across our networks
Rapid setup of circuits Dynamically, under the control of applications Significant work has been done on intra-domain provisioning, but there are still many areas that need further understanding How does one put it all together? For the inter-domain, there are some standards, but they are minimal, primarily dealing with issues of signally Monitoring, management, AAI are under investigation Our networks may use different intra-domain protocols - how will all these domains talk with each other? CANARIE runs UCLP Other networks might be premium IP Internet2 will run a GMPLS dynamic network This panel deals with these issues - current thoughts about hybrid networks
