A number of Young People no longer seeing it as a drug however Overall referrals down, but complexity has increased NPS no longer featuring for us Prescription medication abuse on the increase especially benzodiazepines and ‘Lean’, (aka Purple Drank) containing Codeine and Promethazine mixed with lemonade and a sweet

7 Working with homeless young people
Camden is well resourced and has the Young People’s Pathway which provides housing options for young people One member of the team focuses full time on YP in the pathways We also have a strong relationship with New Horizon’s Youth Centre which also supports street homeless Another team member provides a drop-in clinic for NHYC so can see them straight away. Also links with specialist services if needed

8 Cross sector working Recently have had a few young people through NHYC with multiple needs One who was opiate dependant and street homeless. NHYC supported housing, we supporting substance use included linking with specialist prescribing Another who was alcohol dependant who we have linked into local authority care (16+) as well as the pathways and more recently linking with GP and ICAS to support detox.

9 How to Refer… Please contact the team on: (for case discussion, enquiry or referral) us on: Or manager: Only restriction on referrals is ensuring the young person is willing to work with us and they must be a resident or educated in the borough. No limits/restrictions on length of time we can work with a young person (other than them turning 25).
