Solution: “We primarily use Atomic Learning to offer professional development. As the Technology Integrationist, I have created many custom PD trainings through Atomic Learning. I love the Custom Training feature! It gives me the ability to FIT our individual needs as a district. I can all add my own videos and links that emphasize topics and tools.” Outcome: “Atomic Learning gives our educators the flexibility to learn in their own time/pace. August 2015 EXAMPLES: Supporting Changing Instructional Practices Issue Faced: Meeting the demands of tech integration as well as multiple statewide and district-level initiatives. Solution: Atomic Learning’s resources have been used to develop a Train the Trainer PD model through multiple PD sessions and webinars for the district’s Instructional Coaches that they can take the learning from directly to the teachers on a more personalized level. Outcome: Enhancing student skills and success through the personalized instructional coaching improving teachers’ tech integration skills.

August 2015 EXAMPLES: Facilitating Flipped/Blended Learning Issue faced: Continuity of learning during a teacher’s emergency leave for a Computer Skills course Solution: Assignments and related assessments were created using Atomic Learning’s resources (in this case on the various Google Apps) that met the curriculum outcomes for the course. Outcome: Students were able to stay on schedule while also being able to work at their own pace through the assignments.

August 2015 EXAMPLES: Facilitating Flipped/Blended Learning Issue Faced: Needing to provide an alternative and blended learning environment to help students with credit recapture. Solution: A self-paced blended learning environment was created using Atomic Learning’s resources for both Google and Office. Outcomes: “Students are able to view the Atomic Learning resources at their own pace and review as necessary. Teachers are then able to facilitate the learning as needed, meeting the individual needs of the students.” This met their goal of serving “young adults in an alternative learning environment.”

August 2015 EXAMPLES: Improving Digital Literacy/Citizenship Issue Faced: Meeting the needs of District Leadership Team’s Digital Citizenship initiatives. Solution: Atomic Learning’s resources have been used to develop a Customized PD series related to both the SAMR model and the 4 Cs of 21st Century Skills. This was then assigned out to the district’s teaching staff. Outcome: Teachers gained the knowledge and skills on how to create a 21st Century/Future-Ready learning environment for their students.

Solution: Atomic Learning’s resources have been utilized to create a Digital Citizenship course that all students take when they enter HS. Outcome: Students all end up with the foundation of knowledge the HS teachers want them to have for both HS and College/Career success.

Solution: Atomic Learning’s project-based learning resources helped the instructor to develop curriculum to engage his MS-level students while they are learning digital literacy/citizenship skills. He also uses our Skills and ISTE assessments to check for understanding/learning. Outcome: His students are more engaged in the learning process while developing measurable digital literacy/citizenship skills.
