9 Office 365 & Azure - Case 1 If you already have an Office 365 subscription but not an Azure subscription, the easiest way to add an Azure subscription for your organization is to go to and click the link to start a free trial subscription. When the sign in page appears, you should click the Sign In With Your Organizational Account link.

10 Office 365 & Azure - Case 2 If you already have an Office 365 subscription and an Azure subscription obtained from a Microsoft Account, you can integrate the Office 365 directory with the Azure subscription by adding an existing directory to your Azure subscription.

11 Office 365 & Azure - Case 3 If you have only an Azure subscription, you can add Office 365 for your organization by signing up for Office 365 using the organizational account credentials for a global administrator user in your Azure Active Directory.

Azure service that provides managed cloud based domain services such as domain join, group policy, LDAP & Kerberos/NTLM authentication in the Azure cloud that are fully compatible with Windows Server Active Directory. With these services, you get the full value of Windows Server AD in the cloud domain, without having to deploy, manage, monitor and patch domain controllers.

Create the 'AAD DC Administrators' group Select (or create) the Azure virtual network in which to enable Azure AD Domain Services Enable Azure AD Domain Services for your Azure AD tenant Update DNS settings for the Azure virtual network Enable synchronization of legacy credential hashes to Azure AD Domain Services

Mind the subnetting of RFC 1918 private IPv4 address space If using VPN’s routable domain names are preferred Existing users must change passwords to sync hashes Editable group policies are available (for computers and users) User and group objects from the AzureAD are readable Adding objects (user, computer, group, OU, etc.) is not possible and you cannot change permission in the domain services Still in preview and not available in resource model
