Type of text: A Review of a film within a Blog. Paragraph 1- where the film/book is set, what kind of story it is (comedy, tragedy, etc.), characters. Paragraph 2- description of the plot. Paragraph 3- comments (cast: excellent/weak; characters: well- developed, predictable; acting: very good; script: dull-clever, etc.) Paragraph 4- recommendation (worth-seeing/reading, I wouldn’t recommend it, etc.)

Exercise 2-Key Introduction: setting, type of story, plot, summary, actors (American neighbourhood, comedy, 8-year-old boy catches a thief, Mason Gable, Walter Matthau). Paragraph 1: details of plot (a thief steals gold coins, Dennis sees him, Dennis is caught by thief, Dennis ties thief up and hands him over to police). Paragraph 2: comments (excellent cast, hilarious scenes). Conclusion: recommendation (worth seeing, charming story, entertaining film).

Exercises 3 and 4 Exercise 3-A ) Plot/ Story: moving, confusing, original, thrilling, highly entertaining, gripping, shocking, involving, unimaginative. Script: original, well-written, excellent, poorly-written, unimaginative. Exercise 3-B) Positive: well-developed, strong, humorous, realistic, convincing. Negative: boring, weak, dull, predictable, unbelivable, frightening. Exercise 4) 1-thrilling, action/adventure; 2-moving, love story; 3- frightening, shocking, thriller/horror; 4-convincing, realistic, science-fiction; 5-confusing, detective story/mystery.
