2. Statement of Objectives:
By the end of the next several lessons you will be able to perform abdominal thrusts and demonstrate basic CPR techniques and procedures on a mannequin, and learn the skills required to pass the American Red Cross approved test for CPR and First aid skills.

3. ACCIDENT An event that is not planned to happen
Unintentional Injury - Injury caused by an accident.

4. First Aid
The immediate and temporary care given to a person that has been injured or suddenly become ill.
Emergency - a serious situation that occurs without warning and calls for quick action.

12. Precautions
Do not move an accident victim unless it is absolutely necessary.
Always wear a pair of latex or non-latex gloves when working on a victim that has been in an accident or body fluids are present.
Use latex gloves only once.

13. GOOD SAMARITAN LAWS
Protects people who give first aid in good faith & without gross negligence or misconduct.
Perform only first aid skills you have been trained to give.
Do not try to do what you see on TV.
