2. Rule of Three

3. The rule of three: a writing strategy Writing events, characters, titles, or sayings in groups of three. It is easier for the reader to remember info in groups of 3 & it builds suspense.

4. Rule of 3 This can look different/not just one way to use
Can be used to add detail & elaboration to the story.
Example: (Sentence Style).
He was tired because he woke up early, ran 3 miles, and had a boring meeting.

5. Rule of 3
(Title): The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is my favorite book.
(Characters):The Three Little Pigs, the Three Blind Mice, the Three Musketeers, Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
(Events): The main character must defeat a dragon, pass through the sea storm, and then climb the highest mountain to retrieve the lost item.

9. Magical helper

10. Magical Helper Person or creature who helps the main character.
Can be in the entire story, but usually shows up during the conflict.

Genie(Aladdin), Fairy Godmother(Cinderella), Tinkerbell (PeterPan)

11. Think about it: Would Cinderella have ever been able to make it to the ball on time if the Fairy Godmother’s wand hadn’t turned the pumpkin into a coach, her rags into a dress, and the mice into horses? Would Pinocchio have been able to turn into a “real boy” without the blue fairy’s help? Would Aladdin have been able to end up with Jasmine if it hadn’t been for the genie?

Write a paragraph about a book or movie that includes the elements of Rule of 3 and/or Magic Helper.  
Explain how these elements were used in the story.
