Join the County Office of Education in taking the Person First Pledge
Pledge of Respect I know that my words, attitudes, and actions can hurt others. I promise to recognize that all people are people. I promise to treat all people with respect. I will identify people by their names, strengths, abilities and interests. If I want to refer to a person’s disability, I will place the person first: A person in a wheelchair A student with down syndrome A girl in special education classes I will tell other people to place the person first. Join the County Office of Education in taking the Person First Pledge

Myth: Only people with disabilities need help.
Who needs help? We all do. Glasses to help you see. An agenda to know what homework to do. Alarm clock help you get up in the morning. A cross walk light to know when to walk across the street. Myth: Only people with disabilities need help.
