How to use the template? This template comes in editable form. It features crucial elements of a good educational narrative in the right order. It was designed to help you master the art of crafting a good presentation where one slide is dedicated to one idea – one major point. It follows the pattern of solid educational concepts.
3
Big idea Big idea is a form of introduction. It should map the context of your solution in simple words. It should be a simple narrative delivered in an engaging way. You can start with a relevant story, questions, a quote that matters or stats that map out the problem you will later elaborate on.
4
Problem In this section you need to tell the audience what the biggest problems are that your solution answers to. First you tell them about the challenges then you explain how you deal with them. The problems should be presented in a way people can relate to.
5
Solution Once you’ve explained what the problem is all about, it’s time to talk about the solution. The bigger the gap between these two the better. As this will help you activate the audience’s attention and cognitive resources. Remember that if the problem is threefold, the solution should also be threefold.
6
Potential of the solution
Now it is time to list the key benefits of your solution. Make sure the audience can relate to the benefits you talk about. This is the part when you say how the world will become a better place once your solution is implemented.
7
The money Now it’s time to explain the business model behind your solution. And to show the traction – the product market fit. This part is not obligatory in every pitch, but it will not hurt to talk about the business aspect of your venture. After all it’s a pitch not a fairytale.
8
The team Money is important. So is the team behind the solution that will make the business grow. That is why it’s good to mention the key people and their key skills.
9
Roadmap & the future It’s time to wrap up your pitch with a simple roadmap explaining where you’ve been so far and where are you going. This can take the form of a simple timeline to make the audience understand the progress achieved and your plans for the future.
