2 Predicate Nominatives
Noun or Pronoun Comes after a LINKING VERB Re-identifies the subject or directly refers to it. Mr. Richards is the mayor.

3 Predicate Nominative vs. Direct Object
A predicate nominative IS NOT the direct object. Direct Object Predicate Nominative Alice caught a crazy cat. Alice is a crazy cat.

4 Mr. Richards is intelligent.
Predicate Adjective Adjective in the predicate of the sentence Follows a LINKING VERB Describes the subject while renaming it Mr. Richards is intelligent.

A noun or pronoun with modifiers (describing words). It stands next to a noun or pronoun and adds information or details.
