October 2nd-5th Dear Parents, Did you know that the Liberty Bell and The Statue of Liberty were Made in France?? This week we will begin our Social Studies unit on US symbols. If your child has anything at home they would like to share about US symbols they can bring it in this week! We are excited for another week! Mrs. Garritt & Miss Steinberg This week’s spelling words: Inflected endings –s and -ing *sight words include- eat, her, five, this, four, too Genre: Literary Nonfiction Writing: Personal Narrative Math: We will begin subtraction Reminders: The Scholastic Book Fair starts today!! Liberty Bell trip is on Wednesday! Students should bring in a brown bag lunch and wear spirit shirts. Crazy Sock Day is on Friday! Students can dress down in their crazy socks. Students should be earning at least 100 stickers a week in First in Math. * Leading Lion of the Week: Starts next week and will be Jack! Car/Dinner Talk: How do wild animals take care of their babies? Reading Log Please read 20 minutes each day and record below (reading to, with, and by parents). Title of a book read: (students should practice writing titles) Genre? fiction, non-fiction, poetry, biography… Did you like the book? Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday
