Seres vivos: Plantas (Esquemas)
Living Things: Plants Seres vivos: Plantas (Esquemas)

1. Characterises of a plant
Características de las plantas
3
Characterises of a plant
1 – They born, grown, reproduce and die. (Ellas nacen, crecen, se reproducen y mueren). 2 – They make their own food. (Ellas fabrican su propio alimento). 3 – They need water, minerals, air and sunlight. (Necesitan agua, minerals, aire y luz del sol). 4 – They can not move around. (No pueden desplazarse). 5 – That can move some of their parts. (Pueden mover algunas de sus partes).

2. Parts of Plant Partes de las plantas
5
Parts of plant All plants have root, estem and leaves. Leaves Stem
6
Parts Of Plant Leaf (hoja) Woody stem (Tallo leñoso) Stem (tallo)
Green stem (tallo herbáceo) Thick roots (Raíces gruesas) Root (raíz) Hairy roots (Raíces peludas)
7
Carrot plants have a thick roots.
Root (Raíces) Carrot plants have a thick roots. Zanahoria tiene raíces gruesas Onion plants have a hairy roots. Cebolla tiene raíces peludas
8
Stem (Tallo) Green stem (tallo herbáceo) Woody stem (tallo leñoso)
9
Leaves Leaf (Hoja) (forma) Shapes (redonda) Round shaped Neddle-
(forma de corazón) Shaped Heart- (ovalada) Oval
10
Leaf (Hoja) Borde Borde con dientes Borde liso Edge Smooth edge
Toothed edge Borde con dientes Borde liso
11
They fix the plant in the ground and they get water from the soil
Functions of each part Plants make their food in the leaves. Leaf Fabrican su propio alimento en las hojas Parts of plant Stem Stem hold the plant El tallo sujeta la planta Root They fix the plant in the ground and they get water from the soil Sujetan la planta al suelo y obtienen agua del suelo
12
Functions of each part Leaves (Hojas).
Plants make their food in the leaves. (Las plantas fabrican su comida en las hojas).
13
Functions of each part Stem
Stem hold the plant (Tallo sujeta la planta). Stem passes water and food (Por el tallo se transporta la comida de las plantas)
14
Functions of each part Root (Raíces) They fix the plant in the ground.
(Ellas fijan la planta al suelo) They get water from the soil. (Ellas consiguen agua del suelo)
15
3. Nutrition of Plant Nutrición de las plantas
16
Photosyntesis This process is called Photosynthesis (Fotosíntesis).
Plants make their own food using minerals, carbon dioxide and sunlight. (Plantas fabrican su propio alimento usando minerales, dióxido de carbono y luz del sol). This process is called Photosynthesis (Fotosíntesis).
18
1. Plants absorb water and minerals from the soil throught their roots.
This mixtures of water and minerals is called raw sap (sabia bruta)
19
2. The raw sap travels up the stem to the leaves.
20
3. The leaves of the plant absorb sunlight and carbon dioxide from the air and transform the raw sap into elaborated sap (Sabia elaborada)
21
4. The elaborated sap goes from the leaves to feed the rest of the plant.
22
5. During the process of photosyntheis, plants realease oxygen into the air.
23
4. Types of Plants Tipos de plantas
24
Types of Plant If a plants has one big woody stem (Trunk). They have branches. Tree (árbol) Tronco con ramas Bush (arbusto) Types of plant If a plants has a woody stem but not a trunk. They have branches Tallo leñoso con ramas Grass (césped) If a plants has a flexyble and green stem. Tallo hérbaceo
25
Types of plants Tree (árbol) If a plants has one big woody stem (gran tallo leñoso: Trunk (tronco) . They have branches (ramas).
26
Types of plants Bush (arbusto)
If a plants has a woody stem (tallo leñoso) bu not a trunk (tronco). They have branches (ramas).
27
Types of plants Grass (césped) If a plants has a flexyble and green stem (tallo herbáceo y flexible).
28
Tipes of Plants Types Stem (tallo) Branches (ramas) Tree
Woody stem (trunk) Yes Bush Woody stem Grass Flexible and green stem No Types Examples Tree Pine (pino) Cypress (ciprés) Bush Lavander (lavanda) | Rose (rosa) Clover (trébol) Grass Wheat (trigo) Rye (centeno)

5. Parts of Flower Partes de las flores
30
Parts of Flower The stamens (estambres) are the male reproductive organ. They have pollen (polen) at the top The corolla (corola) is made of petals (pétalos) The pistil (pistilo) is the female reproductive organ. It has ovules (óvulos) inside The calyx (cáliz) is made of sepals (sépalos). Sepals are green. They protect the flower.
31
6. Reproduction of Plant Reproducción de las plantas
32
First, an insect takes pollen from a stamen to a pistil
First, an insect takes pollen from a stamen to a pistil. (Primero, un insecto lleva el polen del estambre al pistilo).
33
2. Then, inside the pistil, the pollen joins an ovule to make a seed (Luego, en el interior del pistilo, el polen se une al óvulo y hace una semilla).
34
3. Next, the petals fall of the flower and the pistil grows around the seed into a fruit.
(A continuación, los pétalos se caen de la flores y el pistilo crece alrededor de la semilla y crea el fruto).
35
4. Finally, the fruit falls on the ground and the seeds grows into a new plant.
(Finalmente, el fruto se cae al suelo y las semillas se convierten en una nueva planta).
